Why Is It Important To Get RV Inspections Regularly?

Nothing can throw a monkey wrench in your camping trip or RV adventure like like a breakdown or part failure. Engine problems, electrical issues, tire failures/blowouts, and other problematic issues can often be avoided with regular RV inspections.

There are a few reasons why RV inspections are often overlooked. Most often, the start of nice weather and camping season causes excitement and anticipation. Because of that excitement, some of us might start scheduling trips without thinking about some of the “what-ifs.” And afterall, your RV looks fine from the outside, right!? You started it up and it started just fine – no noises, visible leaks, etc. Besides, it ran great last season and you stored it in a safe environment.

We’ve seen some expensive and worrisome (for the RV owner) repairs come through the Flying Wrench shop in over 20 years of service. Many (if not most) of these repairs could have been avoided with regular inspections. Here are the reasons why:

EARLY PROBLEM DETECTION

Much like our bodies, vehicles (including RV’s) can have common health issues where, if addressed in early stages, are much less problematic, expensive, and can drastically improve lifespan. Flying Wrench Services performs a complete inspection that leaves no stone unturned. Some of the issues we find might be hard to notice to the untrained eye. Even if you’ve performed some of your own repairs, our equipment and experiences can often lead to catching the most discreet RV issues.

WHEN SMALL ISSUES TURN INTO LARGE ISSUES

Identifying and addressing these problems in the early stages can help you avoid inconvenient breakdowns, costly repairs, and potential safety hazards. The cost of an RV inspection is minimal in comparison to a breakdown or failure when you are on a trip. Not to mention, if you breakdown out on the road, you’re playing roulette with your RV because you may not know a great deal about the available shops in that particular area.

PROTECTING THE LIFESPAN OF YOUR INVESTMENT

Buying an RV is an investment and often times, not an inexpensive one. Think of inspections like you might think of your RV’s insurance – it’s a necessary means to protect your investment.

SAFETY IS KEY

We prioritize safety when performing your inspection. One small electrical issue can cause a fire in your RV. Tire and steering issues can cause accidents. A thorough inspection by Flying Wrench Services can remove that worry altogether.

RECOMMENDED RV INSPECTION FREQUENCY

This depends on many factors including usage, travel conditions, terrain, and more. At a bare-minimum, we recommend at least one inspection before you start your spring/summer adventures. We will get to know you and your travel tendencies when you become a customer, and from there, we may recommend something more suitable for your needs.

Are you ready to schedule your inspection? Message us or call (360) 638-0044 and ask for George.
